The Melimoyu Ecosystem Research Institute (MERI), is a new, private, non-profit organization whose mission is to research, interpret, and ensure the conservation of the pristine and ecologically diverse marine and terrestrial ecosystems of the 40,000-acre Melimoyu Nature Reserve and its surroundings, located in Chilean Patagonia's XI Region.
